How to Walk in Heels

Have you ever wonder how models walk in heels so professionally on the runways? Well, one tip and trick that they use is practicing walking in heels. They are usually 4 inches or higher, so practice are needed.

I am a definite heel girls. I love my heels. I probably have over 100 pairs of heels. That is just to show you how much I love them. I've been wearing them since I was in high school, but not to school of course. That would be a bit weird if I do. I don't even need heels, because I am 5'10 so when I wear heels I am most of the time is 6 feet or higher. But I still love them. I prefer them over converse, flats or anything like that. Although, one down side to them is that they are not easy to walk in. I know that it took me days to learn how to walk in heels professionally and normally. Today, I am going to share you my tips and tricks on how I walk in heels like a model.

1.) Balance- When walking in heels the number one advice I would give to anyone is to have balance. Pretend like you are walking on your tip toes. First, walk slowly than you want to speed it up when you know you are ready for it. So walk one foot in front of another for a great balance. Like a model, when they walk they always have one foot in front of another. That is how they walk so straight and have a nice balance.
2.) Comfortable- When you are picking out your shoes, I would suggest to find a pair that is comfortable. Because heels in general are just not comfortable without practice. So that is why you want a comfortable pair to balance it out. Make sure they fits you right.
3.) Look- You want to pick out a really nice pair of heels that you like. Make sure you like the design and style. Because if you do it motivates you to walk in it more, than if you find a pair that you don't really like.
4.) Checking- While you are picking out your pair of heels. Walk in them around the store. To make sure that they fits you well and you don't feel uncomfortable in them. This is also to make sure you won't slip in them. Because trust me, I've seen girls that have slip in their heels.
5.) While Walking- When walking in heels, make sure you have a great position. Have a straight head, nice position and great balance. Also, swing your hand and make sure you stand straight with your back straight. This will also help you feel more comfortable and balance.
6.) Start of Slowly- If you are a first time heel wearer. I would suggest buying low heels, not like a 6 inch heel or anything like that. I also recommend buying something like wedges, booties and boots that have heels. This is because wedges, booties and boots sometimes have heels to them, but they are easier to walk in because you are more secured. Than if you were to just walk in straight up high heels.
7.) To have a straight position- To have a straight position I have one tip and some of you may know this and some of you may not. My tip is to put a book on top of your head, when you are practicing at your home. This actually help me a lot with heels walking. Make sure to not let the book falls of your head. Because if it does that means you don't have a great position, meaning your head isn't straight and most likely the rest of your body isn't straight. If the book didn't falls of your head, than you are good to go with your position.
8.) MOST IMPORTANT Patience- Practice, practice and practice! I cannot stress enough when people says I can't walk in heels, they are so difficult. When they don't even get enough practice out of them. Practice makes perfect. Do you think that models just go on the runway and walk in a 4 inch heel without enough practice? No, no and no!

I have this video that I want to share with you all, maybe it will help you a lot or just a little bit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQtBUFDyHjs

You can wear it everyday if you want, but you just have to tone down the lips. Or wear it to an event or special party with the bold red lips.

3.) Take a crease blush with Ulta Eyeshadow in Antiqued Gold and place it in the outer corner and just take whatever is left on the brush blending it in a little bit into the crease, but don't take it any higher.
4.) Get any small brush that can use for eyeshadows and dip it in the Antiqued Gold eyeshadow color and place it on the lower lash line over Aztec Gold.
5.) Take a clean small eyeshadow brush with Ulta Eyeshadow Quad in Girl Next Door and dip it in the third color down, that light yellow color and place it on the inner corner.

Book Haul!

I know that I just did a haul yesterday, but that was beauty related. So I think you guys can accept that I am doing a haul back to back. Although, this one is very educational and can encourage more people especially young children and teens to read. So I just went to a local Barnes & Nobles and I picked up some new books. This is going to be my very first ever book haul on this blog, because I've done a few before on my twitter account and you guys seem to really like it.

1.) "Bloodlines" by Richelle Mead- If you know me you'll know that I am in love with the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. I've finished all of the six books in that series. Today I picked up a book from the spin off for the Vampire Academy series. It is will be having the side characters from the Vampire Academy series Sydney, Eddie, Jill and Adrian. I am not sure how I will like this spin off series and this first book, because when I was reading Vampire Academy I kind of think that Sydney storyline is a bit boring. But I'm not sure, since she will the main character in "Bloodlines". I guess I'll get to know more about her and maybe understand her more, so it might not be that boring. So "Bloodlines" is the first book of this new spin off series by Richelle Mead and it is going to be the name of this series.

2.) "The Red Queen" by Philippa Gregory- The next book I picked up is from the Cousins' War series by Philippa Gregory. If you don't know who she is, she is the author for one of my favorite books series The Tudor series. I've read all of the books in her "The Tudor" series and I loved them all. So that's why I decided to picked up another book of her. Plus, I've also read the first book of this series which is "The White Queen" and I totally loved that book. So I was like hey why not picked up the sequel to it. Now I am not sure if I will like this book as much as I like "The White Queen", because if you have read "The White Queen" you'll know that "The Red Queen" is the enemy for "The White Queen" and her family. But I have to see, if I pity "The Red Queen" as much as I did for "The White Queen". "The White Queen" is based on Elizabeth Woodville and "The Red Queen" is going to be about Lady Margaret Beaufort.

3.) "The Maze Runner" by James Dashner- This book I am so excited to read about, since I've read the back of it while I was in the bookstore and it seems really interesting. The storyline is really similar to "The Hunger Games" series by Suzanne Collins. So if you've read "The Hunger Games" and liked it you'll probably like this series too, since it is pretty similar. This is the first book of "The Maze Runner" series by James Dashner. So as soon as I've finished this book, I definitely have to pick up the second book from this series as well.

4.) "Before I Fall" by Lauren Oliver- The next book I picked up is pretty sad in my opinion and it is written by a pretty new author Lauren Oliver. I also read online somewhere that it was option to be made into a movie by 20th Century Fox. So I am super excited for that, since I think this is going to be a really good book. Long story short, it is about a girl name Samantha she has to go through her last day before she dies seven times. Each time she goes through she learn new values.

5.) "The Iron King" by Julie Kagawa- The last book I bought is from the "Iron Fey" series by Julie Kagawa. It seems really interesting so I picked it up. If I like it I'll probably go picked up the sequel to this book. This book is about this girl name Meghan Chase she has a secret destiny and dark things started to appear in her life. I just love these kind of books along with vampires. They just never gets old for me.

Jessica Stam Fall 2011 Inspired Makeup Look

Tonight I just had to get this blog post up. I am just super excited for it, since it is fall related. Well, if you don't know one of my favorite all time model is Jessica Stam. So a few nights ago I was looking up Jessica Stam and came across the beautiful above picture. I totally love her makeup, it is very simple but it is very bold at the same time.It is perfect for those chilly fall days. And you do not have to use the exact same products I use to create this look, you can totally substitute it to whatever you want. Today I am using all Urban Decay products, except for the tools.

Eyes:
1.) As always, start off by priming your eyelid. Take Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden and prime it evenly all over your eyes and the lower lash line, as well as the inner corner.
2.) Take a flat shader with Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Blaze and pad that all over your lid up to the crease and even higher as a transitional color, but leave a little space for highlight.
3.) Take a blending brush with Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Polyester Bride and just blend out any harsh line and to also act as a highlight.
4.) As for liner, for her upper lash line it looks like she used a medium dark brown eyeshadow using it as a liner and she also brought it onto her lower lash line. So take Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Darkhorse with an angle liner brush and just line your upper lash line and lower lash line.
5.) The last step for the eyeshadows is to take a small pencil brush with Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Virgin and highlight your inner corner.
6.) For the actual liners, she had a black liner on her tide line and she had a black liner on her water line as well and she smudge it a little bit to her lower lash line.
7.) The last step for the eyes are just to curl your lashes and apply a coat of your favorite mascara to your upper and lower lashes.

Cheeks:
1.) For her cheeks, she had on a really really light pink blush on, that at first I thought she had no blush on. So take a blush brush or your fingers and take Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in Quickie and apply it to the back of your cheekbones really lightly. So use a light hand.

Lips:
1.) The first steps is that you want to make sure your lips are moisturize and there are no dryness or flaky lips, because we are using a dark lip color.
2.) Her lips are a pink berry rose color. To achieve that take Urban Decay Lip Stick in Buzzkill and just apply it out of the tube or with your finger or lip brush. It looks like she didn't have any gloss on so we are just going to stop it right here.

Fall and Winter 2011 Inspired Makeup Look

Today, I came across the above picture of this really nice makeup on this model. I am not really sure who she is, but I just came across it when I was searching for fall and winter 2011 makeup trend. I totally fell in love with the makeup she had on. So if you like her makeup and wonder how to achieve those gorgeous fall and winter makeup than just keep reading. By the way, I am now trying to use a specific brand for my makeup look blog post, this time I am using all NYX Cosmetics makeup.

Eyes:
1.) Prime your eyes with NYX Eye Shadow Base and than apply an even coat of NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Black Bean all over the lid and up to the crease and on the lower lash line. Remember to not go pass the crease.
2.) With a shader brush carefully pad NYX Single Eyeshadow in Black all over where you place the Black Bean Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil.
3.) Take a flat stiff angle brush, dip it in NYX Single Eyeshadow in Dark Brown and kind of make a winged cat eye heading to the end of your brow up out of the dark black eyeshadow near the outer corner of your eye.
4.) Next, is to take a blending brush and blend out the harsh black line. But don't blend it too much that it will make a noticeable transition color, just blend it to the point where the black line will get lighter making it look like a dark brown. Not really a black.
5.) The last step for the eyeshadows are highlighting the brow bone and inner corner. To do that take NYX Single Eye Shadow in White Pearl with a highlighting brush and just place it under the brow bone and inner corner.
6.) Take NYX Slim Eye Pencil in Black and line your tide line which is your upper waterline. I don't think that she has a black eyeliner in her lower waterline, so just line the tide line.
7.) Apply a coat of NYX Doll Eye Mascara in Volume- Black and apply NYX Fabulous Lashes in number 144 Disco Queen.

Cheeks:
1.) For those peachy pink cheeks, just take an angle blush brush and take NYX Powder Blush in Mocha and apply it focusing on the back of the cheekbone and blend it up to the temple.

Lips:
1.) Make sure your lips are moisturize and apply NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Deep Red all over the lips.
2.) Take NYX Round Lipstick in Shiva and carefully apply it on top of the Deep Red Jumbo Lip Pencil.
3.) The last step is to take a NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sunrise to top everything off.

My Eyebrows Routine + my Advice!

Eyebrows are one of those facial features that really shape your face. My advice to find your perfect eyebrows shape is to follow your natural brow bone. Do not try to shape an eyebrow that you see looks great on celebrities. Just because you see someone that have nice eyebrows and it looks good on them, doesn't mean it will look good on you. Another advice that I have for everyone and I got this from Michelle Phan. "Eyebrows are sisters, not twins." Meaning your eyebrows don't have to look the same on both side, because if you do your brows you will know that it is impossible to make both of your eyebrows look the same. So don't think that it is only you that wants twins eyebrows, everyone does but it is just very hard to do. But this post will cover everything that I do with my eyebrows, from waxing to filling them in.

I wax my brows every 2 weeks. So if I was to wax them today, the next time I would wax them again would be October 2nd. I sometimes go to the salon to get them wax, but usually I wax my own eyebrows at home it's way cheaper. The only reason that I would get them wax at a salon is if I am going to go to an event and I just feel lazy. But it doesn't even take that much time even if I was to wax them from my room. I make my own eyebrows wax using a DIY video from "SecretLifeOfaBioNerd" from YouTube here is a link to that video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTutmYBW6gA Basically, I just do exact everything she does and says. I use 2 teaspoon of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of water. I also does the little fabric strip trick that she uses.

I than would pluck that hair that is still left under my eyebrows, which the most I've gotten after waxing is 2 hair. I than would continuously plucking my eyebrows every time I do my makeup, but if I don't do my makeup that day I won't pluck my eyebrows. I also only pluck hairs under my eyebrows, I will never pluck hair that are above my eyebrows. The tweezers that I use are the Tweezerman Slant Tweezers Assorted Colors and I have them in Pink, but they have 2 other colors they are red and black. But since I am a pink girl, I go with pink. Although, they are $20 but they are such an investment. They will pluck any hair that you want to pluck, very easily. You can get them at Sephora, that was where I got mine.

Now for the filling part, I first shape my eyebrows the way I want it to be by using a spoolie. The spoolie I use is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Angle Eyebrow Brush and Spoolie Duo. I got them back in in February at Ulta and I've been using it since than. A spoolie if you don't know is basically like a clean and clear mascara won. So if you want to go the cheapest way I've found is after you've finished with a mascara. Don't throw the won away, clean it really well with water and you can use it as a spoolie. I would kind of shape them how I want and brush them up to see if there are any hair sticking up the tallest and I would cut from while I am using the spoolie brushing my eyebrows up using the Anastasia Eyebrows Scissors.

I fill them in with powder, because I think it works better for me and look the most natural. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Ash Blonde/Taupe, since I have blonde hair. Also, quick story I really don't know why I have naturally blonde hair, because my dad has blonde hair but my mom have black hair. I guess I got his gene, but anyway I would use the light shade to fill them in with the other side of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Spoolie, which has an angle eyebrow brush. But if I am feeling bold I would mix the lightest shade and the dark shade together.

After, all of this I would and the second to last step of my eyebrows is that I set them with a clear mascara. Which you can set your eyebrows with either a clear mascara or a brow gel, they both work exactly the same I've found. Another DIY at home I've found if you don't want to buy a clear mascara or brow gel is using a spoolie and spray it with hairspray than you can use it exactly like a brow gel or clear mascara. I use the Covergirl Professional Natural Lash Mascara in 800 Clear, because it was what I had and it is also really cheap. I believe I got it at the drugstore for $6 and it have lasted me a long time.

The last step that I sometimes do to my eyebrows is enhancing them. I use the Benefit Cosmetics High Brow which is a brow lifting pencil and it retails for $20 at Ulta or Sephora. It is a pinkish white cream that you put right under the arch of your eyebrows on the brow bone to help accentuate your eyebrows and make them more angled and define.

Leighton Meester The Metropolitan Night Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Last, night I came across pictures of Leighton Meester when she was at the opening night for The Metropolitan Opera and I totally fell in love with the makeup she have on. I think that it is very classy and elegant, but is still in trend. So what I've been thinking is that I will be starting a little series where I will be doing and explaining you guys step on how to achieve the inspired picture. This will be the start off and first post for the series.

Eyes:
1.) Start off by apply your favorite eyeshadow primer. Mine would have to be Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
2.) For the lid Leighton have on a light pinkish champagne color on. So to achieve that look apply a light hand of MAC Da Bling eyeshadow and go on top of that with MAC Naked Lunch eyeshadow.
3.) The crease she have on a medium brown eyeshadow color on. Apply MAC Patina eyeshadow into the crease with a crease brush and than just use whatever is left on the brush blending Patina up as a light transitional color.
4.) As for the outer corner just get a little bit more of Patina eyeshadow and kind of build the color up to really nice dark brown and just apply it in a v motion. So apply it in the outer corner and just a little bit into the crease.
5.) For the brow bone Leighton have on kind of an off white eyeshadow color so take MAC Phloof! eyeshadow and pop that on the brow bone and inner corner as a highlight.
6.) Lower lash line Leighton have on kind of a pinkish golden shadow color on just right on the lower lash line. So mix MAC Naked Lunch eyeshadow with Ricepaper eyeshadow and focus that on the inner one third of the lash line and than kind of fade it into the waterline as you bringing out the eyeshadow. And that is it for the shadows.
7.) For the liners she has on a really nice thick line of black eyeliner and bold lashes flared out in the outer part of her lashes. So take any black liquid or gel liner and start a really thin line in the inner corner and make it thicker as you go out to the outer corner. To have those full flared lashes apply 2-3 coat of Maybelline Volum' Express Flared Mascara and focusing on flaring it out on the outer lashes. This will also give you the illusion of bigger eyes. Also, don't forget to line your upper waterline with a black pencil eyeliner.

Cheeks:
1.) For the cheeks, Leighton Meester have on a really nice pinkish peach coral orangey blush mainly on the apple of her cheeks and it gets lighter as it is faded out to her temple. MAC powder blush in Stunner is perfect for this look.

Lips:
1.) Now the big statement of this look are those bright orangey coral red lips. To achieve the lip color apply a MAC lipstick in Hibiscus. Although, I know that this lipstick is limited edition it came out about 4 months ago from the MAC Surf Baby collection so if you don't have that don't worry. A great substitute for it is MAC lipstick in Lady Danger, it is a permanent color in their collection so you can get it in anytime your want. No hurry.

If you want me to do any inspired makeup tutorial blog post on a picture you've found across the internet feel free to tweet me the link and I'll try to get it up for you.

All About My Teeth and Breath Hygiene

We as people always want good hygiene. One of the most important hygiene are teeth and breath.. We talk to people everyday, so we do not want the person that we are talking to smells our breath. Well, they should, but it shouldn't be a bad breath. Bad breath are not attractive at all, it will actually take the attraction away from you. This is why in this blog post I will share you my tips and tricks on how to check if you have bad breath and ways to prevent it. Now I am not a professional dentist or anything, but I just wanted to share what I do to stay in good teeth and breath hygiene.

How to Prevent It:
1.) Brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes. Get everywhere in your teeth. I would recommend a soft bristle brush, since medium and hard bristles are bad for your teeth. As you know what they say, if you have good teeth, you'll have good breath. When brushing your teeth moving the brush in a soft slow circle motion is best. To go along with it just any toothpaste will work. My favorites brands of toothpastes are by Colgate, Crest, Aim and Arm & Hammer.
2.) Flossing is the trick to have good teeth and breath hygiene. When food are stuck in your teeth and the toothbrush can't do the job, this is where the flossing comes in. Food stuck in your teeth can lead to tooth decaying and as it stays between your teeth it causes bad breath. You just do not want food stuck in between your teeth. I really like the Oral-B Advantage Floss Picks Plus Scope Outlast Long Lasting Mint Flavor. I like this a lot than regular floss, because it is a lot easier to use you don't have to deal with the cutting and all that jazz. Plus, this is also really cheap it is like $3.99 at the drugstores and you get a pack of 75. This will remove the plack just as well as a regular floss, if not better.
3.) Tongue- If you didn't know already 90% of bad breath comes from your tongue. So if you have really bad breath, 90% of the time it is probably because of your tongue. Many people don't know this, because I know I didn't until about 1-2 years ago. The easiest way that I've found is to use your toothbrush and scrape your tongue. I know this may sounds hurtful, but it is actually not. I would recommend to do it until your tongue is not white anymore, because the white stuff on your tongue is the part that cause your breath to smell not so good.I usually do it 3 times. But if I was looking for the easy way out I would just use an Orabrush. Which if you don't know already it is like a toothbrush for your tongue. You can read more about it on their site. They have multiple colors to choose from I think, but I just have the blue one.
4.) Mouthwash- I would recommend you guys mouth washing your mouth one time everyday.I wouldn't recommend you to mouth washing your mouth every time you brush your teeth though, because it can make your teeth weaker. So you have to be very careful with that. My favorite mouthwash is the Scope White Mouthwash Mint Splash, just because it is not as strong as Listerine which is what most people use as a mouthwash. I know my brother use it, but I just can't stand Listerine it's a bit too strong for me. But if you can stand it that's great. I just like this one the best, just because one it smells great. Two it is not that strong, I can totally stand it. Last but not least it has whitening in it too. Mouth washing is also another great way to avoid and prevent bad breath.

Ways to Check:
1.) Licking the inside of your wrist. This is probably the easiest way to check. I mean everyone can do this. It is cheap, easy and simple. You just have to lick it and wait till it is dry than smell it, if it smells bad than you have a bad breath. If it smells good than you have good breath.
2.) Breathing into your hand. I learn this trick from my mom. She had always use it and it works for her, but it never works for me. So I guess this trick is different for everyone. But all you do is just cover your nose and mouth and breathe. If the results of it stinks, than your breath will stinks too.
3.) The last and third way for me is to chew on a pen for about 5 minutes. It may sound gross to some of you, but it is also pretty simple. But just make sure the pen is clean. Basically, just chew it but not so hard that you'll break your teeth. I learned this trick from ehow. So you can read more about it here http://www.ehow.com/how_2246902_check-breath-smells-bad.html

 Others:
On the other note, I decided to include this little part in and it is just me whitening my teeth as one of the steps to my teeth routine. I use the Crest Advanced Seal, it is my all time favorite whitening strips. I've used it for years. Basically,  you just use it every two weeks and you'll definitely see a result. Your teeth will become a lot whiter. Though, I know this may not be important to some of you. It's okay tho!

Back to School: First Week Outfits(Celebrities Inspired)

I know that many of you have already started your school, but I know that many of you still haven't started school yet. Even if your school has already started you can use these outfits as inspirations. Today I'll be doing 3 outfits inspired by Miley Cyrus. If you don't know Miley Cyrus is my fashion idol, she is the celebrity that I always look for on outfits. I think she have nice style. You can wear these 3 outfits for back to school.

Outfit 1:

I think that this first outfit is perfect for back to school, since it is very fall like and is not breaking the dress code rules for most schools. Now these clothes that I find for at stores like Forever 21 may not be the exactly the same as the inspired outfit hence INSPIRED, but it is very similar just FYI.

Top(Forever 21):
http://tinyurl.com/3e3gqcp

Scarf(Forever 21): http://tinyurl.com/3h7hvvp

Jeans(Forever 21): http://tinyurl.com/3kv44en

Boots(Charlotte Russe): http://tinyurl.com/4xz76kc

 Bracelet(Charlotte Russe): http://tinyurl.com/3pd4u9f

Earrings: I am really not sure what earrings she wore, but I would say that any earrings will go with this look. Just make sure it is not too fancy.

Outfit 2:

Top(Victoria's Secret): http://tinyurl.com/3gvxyks

Jeans(Abercrombie & Fitch):
http://tinyurl.com/3upr4es

Shoes(Forever 21): http://tinyurl.com/3m8jlh9

Necklace(Forever 21): http://tinyurl.com/3fe3p52

Bracelets: Just gather a few bracelets and wear them all together at once on one of your arm, but I would stay away from bangles since she doesn't have any bangle(s) on. Also a wrap bracelet is a way to go, plus it is super in this season. You can find wrap bracelets at Nordstroms. And than on the other arm just wear one bracelet, not bangle.

Outfit 3:

My Favorite Eye Cream + a Review on a Clinique eye cream!

Being in New York City, New York for the fashion week for Spring 2012 I need to be wide awake. It is the fashion week, I need to have bright eyes. So what I have been loving lately is my all time favorite eye cream, Clinique all about eyes rich(tout pour les yeux riche). I swear by this product it really does works really well. It works well for everyone in my family including me, of course. I have gone through 2 of the .5 ounces ones and 1 of the 1 oz ones and I am currently on my 2nd 1 oz one. Although, I would say that it is a huge investment. I mean all eye creams should be, if you want good skin. The .5 ounce is $29 without tax and the big size which is 1 ounce is $47.50 without tax. It is says to do all the things that an eye cream should do. On the container itself says "Moisture-rich eye cream diminishes the look of undereye circles, shadows, fine lines-instantly and over time. De-puffs, calms with botanicals. Helps boost natural collagen production. Strengthens skin's moisture barrier against common irritants. Ophthalmologist Tested." You can use this eye cream no matter what skin type you have, so this is a huge plus since some eye cream are made for specific skin type.

I would have to agree that it does calm down my undereyes circles, puffiness and shadows over time. Although as fine lines goes, I'm not really sure because I am only 18 years old. My mom does have fine lines and she says that it really help reduce it, but not 100%.

I would rate this product a 4 out of 5. The reason is that it does help, but it does not make the undereyes imperfections go away completely. It also does takes time for it to work to it potential.

How To: Cure Bad Menstrual Cramps

Us girls we all have those days when we have period cramps, especially bad ones. Period cramps can be hereditary, meaning if anyone in your family are crampers whether they are bad one or not you are most likely to have period cramps. Unfortunately, one of those girls is me. Every girl in my family have bad period cramps, so it is very hereditary. I search on why we have period cramps and the result comes out that that is because of prostaglandins a chemical it is use to make the muscle of the uterus contract, so that it can push out the blood. Cramps can occur anywhere between before your period or during your period. I personally have bad cramps every first 1-2 days of my menstrual cycle. Now lets get into how we can cure those cramps we have and prevent it from getting worse...

Ways to Help the Cramps:

1.) Sleeping- I found out that at least for me sleeping is one of the easiest way to help with menstrual cramps. The position that I like to sleep when I have period cramps are the fetal position when it is in the mother's stomach. So try to relax and take a nap. Relaxing helps a lot with the period cramps for me.

2.) Warm/Hot Water Bottle- This trick is very common, I think that most girls does this trick a lot. I call it the warm or hot water bottle trick. I go for super warm will it almost turn hot. I like to put it where the cramps occur, which I think is around the bladder and appendix area. I like to lay down on somewhere comfy and put the water bottle and relax.

3.) Loose Clothing- Wearing loose comfortable clothing really helps a lot. It doesn't make you feel all tighten or worse. So I recommend something like a nightgown or something like that, just anything loose and comfortable.

4.) Warm Bath or Shower- Taking a nice warm bath or shower will also help reduce the pain. I wouldn't recommend taking it too long though, because if you take too long of a bath or shower during your period it can make your blood hard to flow causing pain. So maybe a 10-20 minutes bath/shower is perfect. I go for 15 minutes, just in between.

Now the 4 ways I listed won't make it go away completely, it will just help to reduce the pain you are having.

Ways to Prevent it: The ways that I am going to list won't completely prevent it, because if you always have had period cramps it will never go away.

1.) Don't Stress- Calm down and don't stress too much when you are having your period, it can make the cramps worse. So relax and calm down. Everything will be alright! Or at least I hope so.

2.) Be healthy- Being healthy is a really great way to prevent those cramps. So eat right and be healthy!

What I Wouldn't Recommend:

I would not repeat not recommend you taking any pills to help reduce it, unless it is prescribe by your doctor or is says 100% will and there will be no side effects for it. I wouldn't taking painkillers, advil, tylenol or anything like that to help with the cramps. Because there are many different thoughts and opinions of what these pills can do to you. Some may says it work, some may says that it doesn't and it help worsen it. So it is always good to be safe than regret it. But there are of course specific pills that is guarantee 100% will help reduce it and they are 100% sure it will not cause side effects or is recommended by a doctor. So aside from that, I wouldn't recommend taking pills. It is not a very healthy natural way to help cure the cramps.

TAG: Would You Rather Beauty Edition 1 & 2

Since, it's kind of late right now. It is 10:30 at night and I am sitting in my comfy bad getting ready to do this tag post. It is a pretty old tag. The Would You Rather Beauty Edition 1 and 2.

Edition 1:

1.Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or Nice hair and no make-up? Messy hair and nice make-up, because if you have a nice face than that is really all there is to it. As for messy hair, sometimes a messy hair can be a pretty messy hair. Like a messy hair bun or something like that.

2.Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out? Have my eyelashes fall out, because I can just wear false lashes. Whereas, eyebrows is the main face part, so it is definitely more noticeable.

3.Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life? Sephora definitely! NARS is my favorite makeup brand, not MAC and NARS is sold at Sephora not MAC. So definitely Sephora and also you get to try other brands too. It is the best of both world!

4.Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm? I would rather wear the lipgloss/lipliner look, I don't think that it is actually that bad of a look. And 80's perm is not my thing.

5.Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush? Overdone blush, because I think that overdone blush can sometime be really cute especially on light to pale skin girls. Obvious foundation line is nothing compared to overdone blush, I hate foundation line.

6.Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
Biker shorts, I don't like the look of MC Hammer pants on me. I saw one video of Bi Rain a famous Korean superstar practicing in MC Hammer Pants and he doesn't look good in it. Also, I can wear kind of a long shirt with biker shorts underneath and who'll know that I have on biker shorts right?

7.Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered? Bad orange-y spray tan. Trust me I've had weird tan lines and it was like living in hell. Absolutely horrible!

8.Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?
Bad hair color, this is like a no brainer question for me.

9.Would you rather have YT or Twitter taken away forever?
Twitter. I mean, I can watch all kind of videos on YouTube.

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
This is a really hard question for me, but I would have to go with giving up mascara.

Edition 2:

Would you rather walk around all day with your skirt tucked in your underwear or be seen wearing a really see through dress? Be seen wearing a really see through dress.

Would you rather go to a party and not realize until the end of the night that you have lipstick on your teeth or that your fake lashes are coming unglued? Fake lashes are coming unglued, because I know this happens to most people a lot so I think that if my fake lashes are coming unglued it wouldn't be a big deal. Having lipstick on your teeth I think kind of make you a little weird.

Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face? This question I can't pick neither, because it is so hard. It also depends on how result full the mascara is and how pigmented the blush is.

Would you rather wear lipstick/lipliner combo or frosty blue eyeshadow? Lipstick/lipliner combo, I don't think that it is that bad.

Would you rather wear foundation that is two shades too light or go way overboard on bronzer? I would go with 2 shades too light, because I already have light skin so even if I go two shades lighter it wouldn't be that noticeable compared to a bronzer.

Would you rather drink an entire bottle of ketchup or run into the guy who broke your heart on a bad hair day when your skin is freaking out? I would go with the second choice. One is because I don't like ketchup and two if I met the guy who broke my heart, who cares what he will think of me anymore?

Would you rather be able to date any celeb you wanted or wake up with perfect red carpet-worthy hair? Date any celebrity I want, I mean I had always wanted to date celebrities that I have crush on. Also, I don't want a perfect red carpet-worthy hair as much.

Would you rather have your armpits smell musky or like delicious lasagna? Armpits smell musky, I do not want my armpit to ever smell like food.

Would you rather give up your makeup or cell phone for one year? As much as I love my phone, I do love my makeup a bit more. So give up my cell phone. I can always use others phones, my home phone or the public.

Would you rather run into a cute guy you like with food all in your grill (teeth) or no makeup at all? No makeup at all, because I think that most guys prefer girls with no makeup at all and I don't think they'll think that it is very lady liek to have food all over my grill.

I hope you like it! Feel free to do it, I tag all of you!

Hair, Makeup, Fashion Trends and Nail Polishes for Fall and Winter 2011

Fall is just right around the corner for most of use, especially if you live in the United States. On September 21, 2011 fall is officially here, so I wanted to get this blog post up 1-2 weeks before fall is officially here. I will cover all of the fall trends there is to be covered from hair to makeup to fashion and to nail polishes. These trends comes from magazines and fashion shows that I've seen really recently.

Hair:
1.) Braids- Braids are super in this fall and winter season. The most popular braid this season are side braids. They can either be a fish tail braid, french braid or just your typical regular braids.
2.) Teased Hair- For fall many celebrities are having messy looking teased hair. Such as Jessica Alba, Blake Lively and many more.
3.) Crimped Hair- I've also seen crimped hairstyles a lot this fall. This trend is also really great if you are wanting volumizing or thicker hair, because crimping your hair will do this trick.
4.) High Ponytails- If you are having a lazy day during the fall or winter months of 2011 you can do a really easy in style high ponytails. It is super simple to do. You can either do a loose messy high ponytails or a slim sleek straight high ponytails.
5.) Top Knots- For bad hair days in the fall or winter months of 2011 you can simply rock a top knots. It also looks really good and is really easy to do.
6.) Lastly, for hair I really don't know what to call this, but it is just basically if you are using and elastic or a hair tie to tie your hair. You can take a piece of your hair and wrap it around the elastic or hair tie and bobbi pinks it. Many actresses in movies and tv shows I've seen done this trend/trick a lot.

 Makeup:
1.) Bold Brows- Bold define brows are really in this upcoming fall. They have been featured in magazines and runways shows. Many celebrities are really rocking this statement trend this fall.
2.) Spider Lashes- Many models on the runways wore this look a lot. It is really easy to get. Just layered 2-3 coats of your favorite lengthening mascara and you'll be ready to go.
3.) Pastel Lips- This is a really different trend. Because fall are known for it bright bold dark lips, so I really like this trend a lot. You can get this look from many lipsticks I really like the Barry M Lipstick in 129 Palest Lavender to achieve this pastel lips.
4.) Natural Cheeks- This fall you really want to have a nice natural blush like you just have a flush of color on your cheeks.
5.) Metallic/Silver Eyeshadows- Metallic and silver eyeshadows are super big this year. Many  models are really loving this trend. Make sure to prime those eyes tho!
6.) Stand Out Liners- Dramatic winged out eyeliners are really in this fall. Don't forget to rock that look!
7.) Red Lips- Of course red lips are usually always in for the fall season, it was really big last year. Just any shades of reds will be so in.
8.) Dark Lips- Dark lips I think are one of those trends that are never out for the fall season. The darker the lips the better, but just make sure that it isn't a black lip.
9.) Upside Down Smokey Eye or a Reverse Smokey Eye- This eye look is basically the opposite of a regular smokey eye. So you are having a really nice natural eyeshadow look on your lids and really smoked out eyeshadows on your lower lash line.
10.) Inverted Crease- This eye look is going to be really in this fall. You are going to see a lot of people especially in everyday life rocking this "inverted crease" look. It is like a reverse cat eye, because you are bringing your eyeshadows higher heading into the inner corner and lower as you are going out in the outer corner. So basically, the opposite of what most people would do for everyday eye look.

Fashion:
1.) Leather Skirts- If you don't know already leather skirts are making a big hit this fall. I've seen on almost every runways shows there are always at least one model rocking the leather skirt trend.
2.) Military Trend- You may be thinking that the military trend are so over, but they are not. They are still making a huge impact this fall season. So anything that is a military pattern or military colors will be in.
3.) Maxi Dresses- I have seen on many runways models wearing solid color maxi dress. Solid color maxi dress will be in, but I'm sure just maxi dresses will also be in.
4.)  Maxi Skirts- Maxi skirts are also making a huge appearance this season. It is a really great way to transition from the summer weather to the falling leave fall weather.
5.) Boots- Boots are also always going to be in for fall and winter. So I think you should really invest in a good 1-2 pairs of boots for the fall and winter months. My favorite brand that sells nice boots are Ralph Lauren and Jessica Simpsons. The famous kind of boots that are going to be really in are ankle booties. Ashley Tisdale is one of the celebrity that is known for wearing the ankle booties trend. Another type of boots that will be in are combat boots. I've seen many of them at Charlotte Russe and Forever 21, but I'm pretty sure any shoe or high end department stores will carry them.
6.) Rompers Pants- Rompers pants are just basically pants that are usually waist height and are usually hits around your calves or just right above your ankles. I have seen on many different fashion sites and runways of models wearing rompers pants and they usually paired it with a skinny belt.
7.) Jumpsuits- If you don't know what jumpsuits are they are just basically like long rompers, that is the best way I can describe it. I think this trend has always been really big since 2009.
8.) Sweaters- Another huge fashion trend this fall and winter are sweaters. Preferably, boyfriend sweaters just because they are more comfortable than fitted sweaters. Forever 21 has a ton of sweaters that are going to be really in this fall and winter.
9.) Dresses- A big fashion trend that every runways shows are having are dresses that hits right below or just right on the knee and wearing dark tights or leggings underneath pairing with high heel boots.
10.) 1970s Trend- The 1970s trend is also been really in this year. So rock those 1970s trend by wearing fitted tops tucked into looser bottoms. I know that Selena Gomez has also been rocking this trend in a few of her photo shoots.
11.) Cropped Jackets- Crop jackets are also really in and I think that cropped jackets are also used to be really in in the 1980s. So now for fall 2011 we are bringing those back. Here is a link to what a crop jackets can look like http://www.josephm.com/ladies-archive-176/josephm-ladies-light-grey-cropped-jacket-349362-109205_zoom.jpg
12.) Studded Accessories- Studded accessories such as studded necklace and bracelets will be really in for the fall and winter season of 2011.

Nail Polishes/Colors:
I decided to pair nail polishes and colors together just because I think they go together, if you know what I mean.  Because when you wear nail polishes you are mostly looking for nail polishes colors that are in the current season, so that is why I decided to put these two categories together.

1.) Crimsons
2.) Nudes/Pale colors will be ex: (khaki, beige, cream, white and off white)
3.) Earthy Colors- Browns and greens
4.) Dark- Dark colors are a big statement this 2 seasons. Anything dark on your nails will be in whether it is a dark green, dark purple, dark red, navy, deep plums etc will be in. I also think that dark colors will always be in for fall and winter.
5.) Mustard- Also mustard colors are also a big trend.
6.) Gem Tones Colors- Anything that falls in the gem tones colors category are going to be so in, trust me!
7.) Golds- Lastly, of course are anything gold. My favorite way to wear golds colors are on my nails as nail polishes.

MAIN Trend:
I have found out that the main trend this fall and winter are pale skin, so this will be a total advantage if you have pale, fair or light skin tones. Also, one of the main trend are elegant looks but you still go kind of bold and bright on the makeup. I hope I answered any of the questions you may have on what are going to be in this fall/winter season.

TAG: Get to Know Me

Today is one of those tag days that I will be doing a YouTube tag, but I will do it in a blog version. Which is just basically where I answer the questions by typing out the answer next to the questions. The tag I will be doing today is the "Get to Know Me" tag, it's a pretty old tag. But I decided that I should still do it and I love doing tags like this. I'm not really sure who created this tag, but I saw a few beauty gurus on Youtube did it.

Questions:
1. Are you named after anyone?
Yes, I am name after Kate Spade. Which is a brand name designer. My mom really love Kate Spade products and my dad also really like the name, so I guess I am named after Kate Spade.

2. When was last time you cried?
The last time I cried was when I watched a really sad Thai drama, it was a few days ago.

3. Do you have kids?
No, I am just a freshman in college, so I am 18 years old. I don't plan to have kids very soon though, maybe in my late 20s to my early 30s.

4. If you were another person, would you would be a friend of yourself?
Of course, not to sound cocky or anything. But I feel that I am a very nice and friendly person. So I of course will be friend with myself if I was another person.

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I don't use sarcasm a lot. I just feel like I am the not the type of person that like to use sarcasm, because I feel like sometime they can be really offensive. I do use sarcasm though, really rarely though.

6. Will you ever bungee-jump?
I want to, but I also don't want to at the same time. I've watched many videos on bungee jumping accidents and I do not want to be one of those people. But I think it will be a lot of fun to do it. I don't really know where to bungee jump around here. I guess if my family does it and they would encourage to bungee jump than I would bungee jump, because I feel like I trust them. But if they don't I'll probably never bungee jump, it's a definite risk. You can risk your life. Better safe than sorry. Right people?

7. Whats your favorite cereal?
My all time favorite cereal are Honey Bunches of Oats. They are so good and crunchy too. They are the only cereals that I'll eat. I've tried all different kinds of cereals and I don't like any of them except the Honey Bunches of Oats. I've eaten it for 2-3 years now and I've liked it since then.

8. Whats the first thing you notice about people?
I would say their eyes, because at least for me when I look at people I look at them in the eyes. So that is why I notice people's eyes the most and first.

9. What is your eye color?
My eye color is a true bright blue eyes. I got it from my dad and his side, because my mom has brown eyes. Here is a link to what my eye color looks like, but that is not my eyes it is someone else. http://3d.uk.to/files/images/Blueye.jpg

10. Scary movie or happy endings?
Happy endings. To be honest I don't really like scary movies, but I do watch them a lot. I know it's weird, but I don't like them that much but I watch them a lot. So I prefer happy endings.

11. Favorite smells?
As of right now my favorite smells are the Bath & Body Works Paris Amour Perfume and the MAC Turquatic Perfume. For my all time favorite smells are books. I love how books smells. I also love the smells of baked cookies and brownies.

12. Summer or winter?
Winter. I love winter more than summer.

13. Computer or television?
Computer of course.

14. Whats the furthest you've ever been from home?
I guess the furthest would have to be France. I live in California so I would say France. I have also been to England and South Korea, but I think France is the farthest from California.
